It was very unlikely that no one had taken more pictures to the new 'Crane Truck' (8258) at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 09, last February...
So here it is a new (old) photo, recently discovered by someone, at an Italian Toys website (Hobby Media).
Taken from this angle and with this perspective, it looks the 2nd front axis, may also steer like the rear wheels on the Mobile Crane (8421).
Meanwhile, some are commenting that consumer price for this set, may get above the price at which the previous flagship (8275) is being sold. Lets wait and see...

Does anyone know what the light grey upright axle near the cabin is for or is it for steering?
And do the wheels also look just a bit too small to you also? Or is it my imagination?
Also still curious about the number of parts.
From an 8258 picture in previous post, it looks the steering knob, is done with a black 2x round brick.
So the LBG axle joiner on the top, apart from simulating the exhaust pipe termination, should control (if) something else. Maybe the front outriggers horizontal expansion/retraction movements!?
As for the wheels, you may read in the same previous picture: '62.4 x 20'. So, they are the same ones used on the Mobile Crane 8421.
I heard some unconfirmed prior references, that this year's flagship model would have again, above 1.800 parts.
Just waiting to see.

WHA? The 8275 got its price jacked up essentially because of the plethora of electric components; as far as we know, the only electric components the 8258 has are a motor (possibly M), a battery box, and eventually one or more pole reversers. Even with the bigger part count and at least two LA's, I find the price over-inflated.
As for the photo, it's interesting to know that even LEGO doesn't want to fully rely on the LA's clutching property: the presence of a clutch gear on the "elbow" of the crane shows that.
And indeed the wheels look a little small compared to their fenders. But, in relation to the rest of the vehicle, they seem well-proportioned to me.
Anyone notice the normal trans orange round bricks for the sirens?
is this a new colour for that part? i mean, the mobile crane had neon orange, never seen regular trans orange for this part before

But seriously now, they should have made this as wide as the tow truck, and doubled up on the rear tires. its so tall and thin dammit!!
